New Year New Vision
Hillis Elementary has a new vision to help the students stay calm, balanced, and focused in the new year. Everyone at Hillis will start their day signing the behavior contract. When we sign this behavior contract we are saying that we are going to be in control of our body at school no mater if we are in a chair, in the hallway, or on the carpet. This contract also says that we are going to be in control of our voice. Sometimes being in control of our voice means that we are a level 0 (silent) and sometimes it is a level 2 (sharing voice or teacher voice). Lastly, we are stating that we are going to be in control of our minds and not messing with our hair, playing with our shoes, or anything else that would distract us. When we are able to be in control of our body, voice, and mind we are then able to concentrate on our learning and cooperate with our classmates.
