Read Across America Day!

Hillis Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with our annual Read Across America Day celebration!  Students and staff dressed up as their favorite book character.  We had many special readers from our community including parents, grandparents, retired teachers, teacher’s husbands, and soccer coaches from West Des Moines Soccer Club!  We also enjoyed a Dr. Seuss inspired snack as well as green eggs which were made green by blending fresh spinach into the eggs!  Thanks to Janetta Hargrove and her Food Corp team for making the snack so delicious and possible!  This was a fun event enjoyed by all!  Check out all the pictures below!
