NEW STUDENT SCHOOL HOURS

The Des Moines Public School District is providing our school staff with a unique opportunity to enhance professional learning and delivery of instruction. This opportunity will increase the student hours by ten total minutes per day to accumulate the additional time needed to provide staff with three uninterrupted professional development days during the school year.

Hillis Elementary School student hours will now be:

• 8:45-3:40 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays)

• 8:45-2:10 (Wednesdays)

The following days will not include student contact time in order to provide staff with intentional focus on professional learning and initiatives.

**Full Day Professional Development (no school for students):

• Friday, October 27th

• Monday, January 22nd

• Friday, March 30th
